Meet the Specialists

Dr Ben Jugmohan

MBChB (UCT), FCS (SA), MMed Surgery (Wits), Fellowship Gastro Surg (SA)

Dr Jugmohan is a surgical gastroenterologist and general surgeon. His main fields of interest and sub-specialisation are treatment of disorders of the liver, biliary system, pancreas and gastrointestinal tract through endoscopic, laparoscopic and open surgical techniques. Dr Jugmohan graduated from the University of Cape Town and specialised in General Surgery at the University of the Witwatersrand, completing a Masters Degree in Surgery, then a fellowship in Surgical Gastroenterology and Hepato-pancreaticobiliary surgery. He’s currently in full-time private practice at Mediclinic Sandton.

Dr Bradley Yudelowitz

MBBCh (Wits), DA (SA), FCA (SA), MMed Anaesthesiology (Wits)

Dr Yudelowitz is an anesthesiologist. After obtaining his degree in medicine from the University of Witswatersrand, he worked in several hospitals in Gauteng. Dr Yudelowitz trained in general medicine, HIV medicine and neurology, then completed his specialisation in anaesthesiology.He is now in full-time private practice and is a member of the Dunkeld Anaesthetic Practice.

Dr Zafar Ahmed Khan

MBChB (Medunsa), FCS (SA), Fellowship Gastro Surg (SA)

Dr Khan is a surgical gastroenterologist and general surgeon with experience in liver, biliary and pancreatic conditions. His experience in surgical treatment of these conditions has been gained in France, Japan, Belgium and most recently a world-renowned liver and transplantation unit in the UK. His main interest is liver surgery for primary and secondary tumours of the liver and biliary system. He is a consultant and lecturer at the University of Witwatersrand and Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, and is in part-time private practice.

Dr Devorah Wineberg

BSc (Unisa), MBBCh (Wits), FCS (SA), MMed Surg (Wits)

Dr Wineberg is a general surgeon. She graduated cum laude from her degree in medicine and has worked in various hospitals in Gauteng. She has a keen interest in all aspects of surgery.
She is extensively involved in research and surgical training at the University of Witwatersrand. Dr Wineberg is a consultant and lecturer at the University of Witwatersrand and Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital. She is in part-time private practice at Linksfield Hospital.

Dr Richard Lawson

MBBCh (Wits), DA (SA), FCA (SA), MMed Anaesthesiology (Wits)

Dr Lawson is an anesthesiologist. After he completed his medicine degrees at the University of the Witwatersrand, he worked in various hospitals throughout South Africa and gained extensive experience in emergency medicine in South Africa and the United Kingdom prior to gaining his specialisation in anaesthesiology. He is currently in full-time private practice and is a part of the Dunkeld Anaesthetic practice.
